Borehole Casing Pin Box Ends

Manufacturing these borehole casing pin box ends was a very demanding but satisfying project.. Our customer needed 60 steel pin and box sets manufactured in time for him to weld them to 3-meter casings and then deliver them into Africa. The job was made even more challenging as the turn-around time required was very short.

When we were first approached I was not sure our CNC lathe was big enough to handle the almost 300mm diameter of the stock material. Fortunately, we came up with a solution and the machining went well. It was a good exercise in learning how to make full use of our machines’ size restrictions.

Following completion of the steel pin and box sets our customer then realised he needed plastic thread protectors to transport the completed casings to the Congo. The team rose to the challenge, finishing the the thread protectors and delivering them as the completed casings were being loaded for final delivery.
