Take up bearing housing set for the sugar industry in Reunion.
This project was taken on at a time when we did not yet have the luxury of CNC machines. Everything was machined on conventional machines. It was a real challenge, but it could not have come at a better time.
Prior to this project, I was still working on the machines in the workshop and had only just started entrusting my staff with more responsibility. The team had been with me for a few years and some had no machining experience before joining Amken. The fact that they were able to successfully complete this rather challenging project stands testament to the learning and development supported by the working environment at Amken.
It was this project that gave me the confidence to grow Amken to where it is today. The team has grown in numbers with the original team members still in place. Together we will continue to challenge ourselves, find solutions to our customers’ needs and take Amken into the future.
